The flagship Enkhuizen 744 Tender is a large, exceptionally spacious boat with an innovative interior. The 744 have a shallow draft, excellent maneuverability, a spacious and comfortable interior and sailing characteristics that belong to a modern design. In short, a fast boat with the comfort of the classic sloop.
The Enkhuizen 744 is the third model in our line of tenders. In-house designer Jan-Pieter Vredeveld has designed, an extremely spacious tender with an innovative interior. The characteristic features of the Enkhuizen tender have been fully preserved in this new model. The sturdy style bow, the beautiful sheer drop side and the extraordinarily stylish transom with integrated bathing platform and the high-quality finish with solid teak wood are features of the Enkhuizensloep tender line that clearly manifest themselves in the Enkhuizen 744 Tender.
The hull shape of the 744 invites you to sail in a very wide range of sailing areas. Due to the shallow draft and the clever way in which the hull lets go of the water, the boat pulls few waves in shallow water. A boat with respect for river banks and other water sports enthusiasts. On larger waters a high speed can be achieved, even with low motorization, because the hull planes quickly. The integrated spray rails deflect the spray, so that the occupants remain dry even at high speeds. In short, a boat within which a large distance can be covered in a short time and in complete comfort.
The 744 will be equipped with a robust and safe electrical system so that all modern aids can be reliably integrated. The boat offers enough space to make a long trip with 8 people. And of course the 744 can be equipped with all the amenities that make a trip a real pleasure. There is room for a large refrigerator, a wine cooler, cooking facilities, washing facilities, wardrobe space, a double bed and of course a toilet facility.
Characteristic of the interior of an Enkhuizen sloop is the way in which the extra accessories are concealed. At first glance, they are integrated invisibly into the interior using high-quality teak wood, which means that they remain spacious, well arranged and safe. In the interior of the 744 we have raised the bar even higher. The fore cabin is directly accessible from the cockpit. It can be equipped with a permanent lockable toilet facility, cupboard space for rain gear or as a traditional storage space. The access to the forepeak is behind the front seat. That sofa normally offers a spacious seat. By removing the back cushion and opening the door, the front is easily accessible. If you are not using the front area, the access is concealed behind the sofa cushions.
We have incorporated two novelties in the aft deck. The first is a “fender hatch”. This hatch is located at the top of the aft deck, right behind the helmsman and offers space for storing the fenders and lines. In this way they are always quickly available, while the cockpit remains spacious and safe. The second novelty consists of a door to the bathing platform. Normally, the door is closed, so that a sea / water approaching behind cannot cause unsafe situations. The door in the transom that when folded open, offers a wide passage from the cockpit to the bathing platform. It’s safe, comfortable and virtually invisible when not in use.
As with every Enkhuizen sloop, special attention has been paid to a safe environment with the 744. Of course all our boats meet the CE standard, but it doesn’t stop there. Safety is not only determined by a design category. Safety is especially important during normal use of the boat. The 744 are equipped with many safety-enhancing standard features. For example, the fenders are attached to the boat via an ingenious click system. These snap-on brackets ensure that your fender always hangs at the correct height, that no rope dangles loose in the cockpit and that you can attach it very quickly.
A conveniently arranged interior with easily accessible storage space and concealed accessories ensures that no loose items have to be left lying around in the cockpit. The floor of the 744 is laid out on two levels, the helmsman sits high, the passengers lower. In this way, the helmsman maintains an optimal overview of the sailing area, even when the cockpit is full.
The Enkhuizen 744 has wide entry steps with good, firm support options. And because we build every Enkhuizen sloop for you by hand, we can assemble an extra boarding aid for you if you wish. This makes not only sailing, but also boarding and disembarking safer.
