Description
The Enkhuizen 500 is a hardy, robust clinker motor sloop. Built on the original design of an English lifeboat, the Enkhuizen 500 is most suited to the inland waterways.
The Enkhuizen 500 has a spacious cockpit with comfortable round benches and seat cushions of high waterproof quality. That makes the 500 ideally suited for hours of sailing pleasure. The interior is stylishly finished with teak details. The heavily insulated engine box has a teak finish which also serves as a handy table. Ample stowage space is provided under the foredeck and rear seats.
The shallow draft in combination with the extremely small turning circle make this sloop ideal for day trips in ponders and on lakes. Because the DNA of the original lifeboat has been preserved, the 500 is sturdy and extremely stable. In addition, the sloop is easy to trailer due to its small length and low weight.
We build the 500 entirely to your wishes and personal taste. You can choose from different color combinations for the hull and interior. A large number of comfort-enhancing options are also available, from a toilet facility to a sundeck. Each 500 can be optionally equipped with a tiller or steering wheel.
For propulsion, you can choose from a choice of diesel engines, whisper-quiet electric motors or a hybrid solution. The diesel engines have proven their reliability in countless sloops. They are tuned for sailing comfort and a low noise level. The electric motors are of the very latest generation and guarantee a day of carefree and environmentally friendly sailing on a single battery charge.
